Day 4: Pura Track Speed Camp 2025
Thursday, 23rd January 2025
Today was our first gym session of the camp, and as usual, the ladies arrived pumped and ready to go.
We used Minimal Fitness Club for today’s session. I have previously been to this gym, back in 2017 and 2018, and although I liked it then, there were some appreciated updates to the place, which made me like it even more this time around.
Side note: The "club" in the gym name is pretty accurate as I had to spend much of the session shouting so the ladies could hear me (lol).
It was a bilateral gym day today, so the ladies did exercises that targeted both legs simultaneously.
The session began with a bit of pulse-raising, Nancy went on the bike, and Dee went on the treadmill. Afterward, we went through some walking drills, conditioning the feet, ankles, and other areas.
Following this, we got into the main session, and as Nancy put it, "We started in January and finished in March!" (Loool!)
Despite it being the longest gym session either lady had ever done (4.5 hours), they both had a great session. This is the day that I noticed a significant shift in Dee and Nancy, and they both did more than they ever thought possible! It was amazing to see how Dee tackled exercises fearlessly (exercises and weights that once intimidated her), and how Nancy once again overcame mental blocks to complete exercises/weights she thought she couldn't do.
The session finished with some core work, and afterward, the three of us found a Thai place for lunch.
In the evening, we had our first group outing, where we did some axe throwing. Fran came along too and he beat us all lol.
Overall, it was a really fun evening to cap off a really great day.
